Wallaroo is situated on the western side of upper Yorke Peninsula. About a two hour drive from Adelaide it was once the site of the largest copper smelter outside of Wales. Today it is a tourist destination, part of the 'copper triangle', but more importantly it is a deep water port for the shipment of bulk grain.
We stayed three nights in the former customs house and while there are many historic buildings in the town it is the grain silos and jetty which attract the most attention.
