I have recently been spending some time going back over my collection of photos taken in suburban Adelaide and was surprised to see how many images there were of letter boxes. It made me remember times of waiting for the postman, of running to the letter box to see what he had delivered or being disappointed as he just passed by.
Now, our letter box is almost redundant. Everything arrives electronically. It makes me wonder if the humble letter box will remain ubiquitous or become merely a sculptural relic on the front fence.
